Naast liefhebber van vreemdsoortige en grappige muziekjes is presentator Jan Turkenburg (ik dus) ook altijd een grote David Bowie-fan geweest. In de komende uitzending van Vreemde Geluiden, dinsdag a.s. combineert hij deze passies voor de tweede keer. Een uur lang kunt u luisteren naar bijzondere cover-uitvoeringen van bekende Bowie-nummers.

Daarnaast nodigt Jan alle muzikanten in Zwolle uit om een eigen cover van een Bowieliedje in te sturen. Deze zullen dan gedraaid worden in Jan's andere programma: Zwols Muziekarchief op donderdagochtend. Live langskomen mag ook.

Vandaag zullen bij Vreemde Geluiden olifantenliedjes te horen zijn. Enkele opmerkelijke uitvoeringen van Henri Mancini's Baby Elephant Walk, dat in een ver verleden de herkenningstune van dit programma was zullen de roode draad vormen, maar ook Gruppo Sportivo, The Dizzy Man's Band en Helen Shepherd en de Nieuwkoopse Plassertjes (jawel, zo heetten ze echt...), maken hun opwachting.
